So I decided to make Canada Day cake pops before heading out to the lake tomorrow - I made them for the lake...what better excuse is there? Let me tell you, cake pops are not as easy as I thought initially...I knew that the more advanced cake pops were difficult, but all I wanted to do initially was make cake balls....and those proved harder than the cake pops...I think it may have to do with the thickness of the candy coating.
Anyways, after the first batch that didn't look so great (and I mean, cake was leaking out of the cake balls, the coating was super thick or thin in some places, etc.), the second batch proved a more visually appealing lot. This is what they look like!
Be forewarned: Cake pops are super sweet morsels - I wouldn't be able to eat more than one (and this is coming from my newly developed super addiction to sugar!)
Gotta go work on a project...and maybe make some dinner :)
Hope some of you are able to enjoy the fireworks tonight...I won't be able to sadly, but we will have our own out at the lake! Tristan's first fireworks show :)
